I'm sorry but my German is very poor. I'm a relative of this photographer and I can provide more information about his life if someone wants to translate it to German and add it to the page:

Franz Xaver married Rosa Weinmeier (geb. Straubing 8.9.1852). He opened his "photographisches atelier" on 12.Mai.1868 on Eisenbahnstrasse Nr. 475 (ad on Straubinger Zeitung Nr. 35, Dienstag, 12.Mai.1868, page 4).

Franz Xaver got his "Königlich Bayrishchen Hof-Photograph" title from Prince Leopold on 16.8.1887 [1].

Upon his death in 1899, his wife Rosa continued the business for a few more years signing her work as "Franz Limbrunner Wwe", and won a "Goldene Medaille" at Landshut in 1903, until their son Franz Limbrunner took over in 1904. Franz Xaver took photos of the city and at the Gaübodenvolkfest, some of which are published on books[1], and exhibited at Straubing's Gaubodenmuseum.
